We held our first ever virtual learning event for the Agricultural Livelihood portfolio from 17 – 20 May 2021.
The theme for the event was Better Together. In keeping with this theme, the event created an online space for portfolio partners to openly share their achievements and setbacks with each other. We wanted to identify common interests, challenges, barriers and pathways to more sustainable and equitable food systems that we could work on together.
The event was a big success! Our partners were enthusiastic participants in many discussions and embraced new connections and open collaborations.
We truly feel we achieved the togetherness that we had in mind.
We look forward to continuing our conversations in the run up to some of the world’s most important events for sustainable development: the UN Food Systems Summit, COP 26 and the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
Here are our YouTube videos of the plenary sessions and our artist’s visuals capturing the rich discussions from all four days.
Day two –
Sowing seeds of inspiration
We dug deeper on the concepts of regenerative, inclusive and circular agriculture. We asked: “what do these terms really mean”?
Day three –
Growing understanding and insights
We discussed pursuing ambitions, facing challenges head on, learning from mistakes and being flexible to change.
Day four –
Harvesting connections and ideas
On the last day, we came together as a community to discuss how we can move forward towards common goals.
