Since COVID 19 hit the world, healthcare workers are our local heroes and role models. How amazing it would be if they’ll not only fight the pandemic, but also climate change?
In this session, our Progamme Manager Climate Action Edgar van de Brug will talk to two experts: Josh Karliner, director of our partner Health Care Without Harm and Dr. Maria Guevara, the International Medical Secretary for our partner MSF (Doctors without Borders).

Josh Karliner is the International Director of Program and Strategy for Health Care Without Harm (HCWH). He has more than 30 years of experience leading organizations working on international environmental, health and social justice issues. Prior to joining HCWH, Josh co-founded and directed three NGOs, worked for Greenpeace International, taught at the University of San Francisco, and is author of two books along with a wide variety of academic and popular publications.
Dr. Maria Guevara is the new International Medical Secretary for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)/Doctors Without Borders, transitioning from her most recent role as a Senior Advisor on Global Health. Her work in the humanitarian sector began with MSF in Liberia in 2004. Since then she has held field roles in Guatemala, Haiti, DRC, Nigeria, Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Sudan, and recently in the US for COVID, in both emergency and stable settings.
