Entrepreneurs: The key to a better life for local communities
Successful entrepreneurs help create vibrant local economies. In communities with few resources, entrepreneurs are all the more important because they develop job opportunities and address social and environmental challenges. But they often face overwhelming barriers to starting and growing their businesses—especially during COVID-19.
Our new partner, the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME), supports entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to succeed, so they can be changemakers in their communities. Together, GAME and the IKEA Foundation will nurture and grow a thriving enterprise sector in India that provides decent employment for millions of young people, enabling them to afford a better life.
Join our Ask an Expert Session on Thursday 12 November at 15:00 CET to listen to an engaging conversation between Ravi Venkatesan, founder of the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME), and our CEO Per Heggenes on harnessing the potential of entrepreneurs to create a brighter future.
Ravi Venkatesan is the founder of the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) and UNICEF’s Special Representative for Young People and Innovation. He is also the founder of Social Venture Partners India, a pan-India network of philanthropists, and is a partner at impact investor Unitus Ventures. An accomplished leader in the corporate and philanthropic sectors, Ravi has helped steer companies through challenging transitions and business transformations.
