As Sustainability Manager for IKEA Canada, Brendan Seale brings to life IKEA’s “People & Planet Positive” strategy – to inspire and enable millions of people to live a more sustainable life at home, to strive for resource and energy independence, and to create a better life for people and communities affected by its business. Through this approach, he works to integrate sustainability principles into the Canadian retail organization's strategy, operations, products & services, culture, governance, and brand.
Previously, Brendan served as Sustainability Advisor with The Natural Step Canada, delivering a wide variety of advisory services and education programs to clients in many sectors. Brendan has also worked in corporate communications in the mining sector and is an experienced group process facilitator. He holds an MSc in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden, and a BA in Communication Studies & Multimedia from McMaster University.
In leisure time, Brendan’s feet keep the company of soccer shoes, bicycle pedals, ski boots, and infectious beats.
