Five favourite pictures with our emotions

During one week, we had the opportunity to witness with our own eyes the child-rights projects that Save the Children runs in the Ho Chi Minh City region. In this last post, each of us has selected his or her favourite picture and makes a personal summary of our trip.

It is difficult to describe the feelings during this week. It was so emotional and beautiful!
Everywhere I saw a lot of happiness in the eyes of the children, and our children are our future. By replacing vulnerability with empowerment, it is possible to offer children a brighter future. And it is our responsibility to do so! Save the Children does a great job here in Vietnam, supporting where support is needed.

Once back home I want to stay in touch with the Save the Children team in Vietnam. I will tell my friends and people in my network about Save the Children Vietnam and the experience I shared with them. Even more than before the trip, we will be supporting the Soft Toys for Education campaign in our IKEA store to increase our donations.

Thanks for the great experience. This will stay in my heart all my life.

In our daily life, we know that a lot of children live in poverty. The children in Vietnam have nothing but they gave us so much! They touched my heart so deeply. By being there, I could maybe give them a special day in their life, but all the children gave me so much more.
On my way back, my bags are filled with emotions. This experience changed my life.

Unfortunately the trip is over and we leave Ho Chi Minh City.
During this week, I have seen with my own eyes what the project with Save the Children is doing. I have to thank IKEA for this wonderful opportunity it gave me.
These children and this city have awaked feelings that sometimes are forgotten in our society.

I am very happy and proud to have had the chance to live the reality of these children so closely, and I cannot wait to share the experience with everyone.

Pupils empower pupils on child protection and child abuse. During one week, we witnessed with our own eyes how Save the Children—thanks to the support of the IKEA Soft Toys for Education campaign—changes children’s lives in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City region. It reminded me how fortunate I am and how important it is to support others. Thanks!

Film –The pupils in every school gave us so much—happiness, smiles and songs. To give a small thing back, we learned a Save the Children song titled “We build community” and performed it in front of the pupils.
