Ready to share our love and see how things change!

It’s the second year for us, IKEA Taiwan, to join the IWitness Global Citizens Programme. This year we are going to visit Indonesia with the IKEA Indonesia team to see how the IKEA Foundation and Save the Children help Indonesian children with disabilities enjoy a full and decent life.

In the middle of September, we held a recruitment event, offering the chance for every co-worker to apply for the IWitness programme. Through the recruitment film, posters and also our IKEA club on Facebook, lots of colleagues applied and showed great passion in various creative ways. The final decision was made by last year’s IWitness participants, who we believed could choose most qualified people for this trip. And they really did!

The mission for this year’s IWitness trip is very special yet a little bit difficult for us since we didn’t know much about children with disabilities. We spent a lot of time studying and sharing knowledge with each other before the trip. One of us even applied for a volunteer service in her neighbourhood after work to help children with disabilities.

Amber, one of our global citizens, applied for a volunteer service.

With these efforts we made before the trip, we tried our best to prepare ourselves ready both mentally and physically. Now we are really looking forward to meeting those little angels in Indonesia, to share our love and see how things change in a good way!
