Sustainable Market Inclusive Livelihood Pathways to Self-Reliance (SMILES)

AVSI Foundation and the IKEA Foundation work with refugees and host-community households in the Kyangwali and the Kyaka II Refugee Settlements in Uganda, delivering sustainable livelihoods through two simultaneous strategies: an ongoing individual-upliftment graduation model integrated with a market system development approach. Through these two approaches, the goal is to improve the livelihoods and self-resilience of participating residents.
