Employment & Entrepreneurship
We are committed to championing green entrepreneurs who provide employment and meaningful livelihoods for people living in poverty.
Our global economic systems generate wealth and create employment – but unsustainable consumption and production is causing huge environmental damage. At the same time, social and economic inequalities are increasing. Unemployment continues to trap families in poverty and makes them more vulnerable to exploitation.
People need opportunities to earn a decent income to lift themselves and their families out of poverty, in a way that protects our planet. Moving toward green, inclusive and localised economies is a way to balance economic growth with environmental protection.
We see green entrepreneurs as a dynamic force to shift our economies in the right direction. They have the power to turn environmental challenges into new business opportunities. That’s why we support entrepreneurs who address social and environmental problems, who develop local resources to meet the needs of local communities and who create green jobs for others.
Green entrepreneurs have the potential to address some of the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges. We want to support them to build fair, just and sustainable economies that benefit families and protect the planet for future generations.
